This class gave me the opportunity to analyze ethical issues within an information organization. There were evaluations of policies and legal issues within these organizations. The huge impact of multicultural and diverse populations. The basic research and analyzing of information. A IRB certificate was created by reading and answering the modules on basic human social behavior focus. This was very interesting regarding the research process with humans and what is considered legal research.
I did a social media policy. I created an advocacy issue for literacy in libraries with a class powerpoint. There was an action research project and I chose storytimes in libraries which was very hard finding any type of action research done in this area. While children are the human content but consent by the parent to have their pictures taken or any videos of them is the challenge to doing research on storytimes. I did find two researchers who had accomplished this and how they watched and glowed as the children's excitement happened with each story, song, rhyme, or dance. I did have the opportunity to take my grandchild to storytime at our public library and I did a little observation and used this in my paper as well. With each and every project there was a takeaway and it only increased my excitement and desire to work within a library. The projects I created are missing from my Canvas account so I cannot produce them on this website. |
